Rock Creek Kennels Staff... we're family!
When it comes to pet care, you want the best.
That’s why we’ve always been so selective about our staff. We carefully screen our employees to ensure that each member of the team is committed to the care and well being of every animal that stays with us. With nearly 80 years of pet care experience on staff, we want you to know that when your pet is in our care they’ll be treated as well as they are at home. After all, at Rock Creek Kennels…we’re family!
Debbie Schappert – Owner & Pet Care Technician – Debbie has been with the Rock Creek Kennels family for more than 20 years, and along with Tanya Triplet has owned the kennel for nearly 10 years. A native Oregonian, Debbie has had a lifelong passion for animals. Growing up on a cattle ranch, she was a 4H Champion and has always loved cats and dogs. Debbie is passionate about providing quality care for the animals that visit Rock Creek and giving their parents the peace of mind of knowing that their pets will receive only the best of care. She’s a Certified Kennel Technician, holds a Bather/Brusher Certification and is a Grooming School Graduate.
Debbie’s daughters also enjoy helping out at the kennel, making sure mom is bathing the animals the right way and that the animals are well tucked in at night. She also loves camping and fishing and keeping her hands busy when their not caring for animals or making jewelry.
Tanya Triplet – Owner & Pet Care Technician – For nearly 15 years, Tanya has been caring for visitors to Rock Creek Kennels. Driven by her love of animals, Tanya joined Rock Creek in 1994 and owns the kennel along with Debbie Schappert. For Tanya, one of the greatest rewards of running the kennel is being surrounded by a team that truly loves animals and seeing that compassion help put pet owners at ease when they leave their pets. When she’s not caring for the animals, Tanya, a native of Pennsylvania, loves hunting, fishing and off-roading… when she’s not sporting around on her Harley!
Susan Lorentzen – Pet Care Technician – Susan has been with Rock Creek since 2004, but she’s had a life long love affair with critters. Susan started her career back in the eighties as a Veterinarian Assistant. She’s completed Vet Tech coursework and Veterinary Radiology classes at both PCC and Mt. Hood Community College. Susan is also a Certified Kennel Technician. Susan loves the team atmosphere at Rock Creek (her son Josh is also on the team) and being surrounded by people who are as dedicated to animal care as she is. She enjoys spending time with her grandkids and 2 dogs: Jake – a Balkan Hound, Buddy – a greyhound.
Randee McBurney – Pet Care Technician – Randee has more than 5 years experience in the pet care business and joineed Rock Creek Kennels in 2006. She loves the ‘partnership’ with the other Rock Creek family members and particularly gets a lot of satisfaction when she wins over an anxious dog. She’s a Certified Pet Care Technician and also loves the sense of comfort that families have when leaving their pets with Rock Creek. Believe it or not, Oregon’s rain enticed her and her family – her husband of nearly 20 years and 13 year old daughter – to make the move from Arizona. They enjoy playing games and hiking with the family dog, a German Shepherd named Layla. Randee is also an avid reader, something her two cats, Yoda and Niki, probably enjoy as well.
Josh Lorentzen – Pet Care Technician – With a mom like Susan, how could Josh grow up to be anything but an animal lover?Josh has been a member of the Rock Creek family since 2006, Josh, a Certified Technician, loves working with dogs and is living the dream. Josh, his wife – a Veterinary Technician – and daughters live in Forest Grove with their dogs. Outside of the kennel, Josh is a man of the soil, enjoying farming and gardening. He also enjoys hunting, fishing and water sports.
Rob Parmenter - Pet Care Technician - Rob has been in the pet care industry for over 6 years. He was drawn to it initially through his love of animals and desire to help homeless animals, while working at a shelter. He never looked back. Coming on board in 2009, Rob comes to Rock Creek from Michigan, by way of Arizona. As a boy he always dream of living in the Northwest and has settled his family here - his wife, a Pit Bull, a Shihpoo, a Maltipoo, a goofy cat, and very soon a child! Outside of working with animals on the job and at home, Rob enjoys a good story, whether on screen or in a book, writing, music, video games, and outdoors, hiking and exploring the coast.
